    Don’t know if you got you answer yet but just in case.
    I wiil be using an AEM ecu that is canbus capable, just need to verify that the output signals are the same.

  3. hey im just about to undertake the same swap on an e46 the only thing holding me back is the canbus. the car is a 99 e46 (m43) how did you go with the AEM ecu. does the electronics in the car run like factory ie gauges, abs etc.
    love the colour of your m3. laguna seca blue is a great choice in colour. its a shame there arnt many kicking around in aus

    The AEM was unsuccessful in running the factory Can-Bus system. We are installing a AIM dash in place of the factory dash. Although it is an extra cost the advantages are huge with all the options available in the AIM dash. AEM ECU’s have been working with AIM for awhile now.

  5. Hey mate. Out of curiosity how much of the original wiring will I need. I’m not planning on running aircon, iv been thinking a jzx100 (1jzvvti 5 speed manuel) by using the jzx dash cluster, and rewiring the windows and lights etc it may be a cheaper alternative. Iv just been sorting out my original harness and ecu just thought id be best off asking before I throw it out haha
